Church Financial Situation 

Like many small businesses, the church is not receiving its regular income because of the closures brought about by the coronavirus situation. Fortunately over the past years we have had a reserves policy which has meant that we have accumulated funds for such a situation. We still have to meet our regular outgoings, most of which can not be reduced. As we are planning that it is unlikely that we will be able to resume our “normal” activities before September, we will be using up virtually all our reserves.

Consequently we are inviting those who can to consider ways in which they can contribute what would have been their normal weekly collection.

This could be done in a number of ways. The options could include

- at regular intervals sending a cheque made out to Wallingford Methodist Church for me to bank. My address is 12 Sinodun Road, Wallingford, OX10 8AB

- for those who have internet banking, either setting up a standing order, say monthly, to the church account, or making periodic cash transfers to the church account. If those who are interested email me at philipburns23@yahoo.co.uk I can supply them with the bank details.

Continuing to receive contributions from those members who can GiftAid them is especially important as we can then claim the money from the Government - £5 for every £20 given.
